Lunch of steak cooked on the coals of the fire. I think this is may be my favourite way to have steak cooked. Settling in for the night in the shelter. Dinners cooking under the fire. When ready I will be eating in the shelter due to the rain now coming down . #primitiveshelter#bushcraftshelter#basecamp#primitivebasecamp#primitivecamp#campfire#camp#camping#primitive#primitiveskills#bushcraft#bushcraftuk#bushcraftskills#bushcrafting#bushcrafters#autumn#woods#woodland#woodsman#campcraft#woodcraft#woodcrafting#greatoutdoors#getoutside#getoutdoors

Primitive Bushcraft Base Camp

In this video I visit the Bushcraft base camp for the day and I show you around the primitive shelter and base camp.

Whilst in the woods I set out to do some campcraft and create a small hand broom from hazel twigs and spruce cordage to use in the primitive shelter to clear out around the fire.  This simple bushcraft tool can be made using just your bushcraft knife and Saw.

As this is a grass shelter it is a giant tinder bundle and as such containing the camps fires is highly important.

Plans have been made to build some more primitive natural raised beds in the shelter and I hope to bring this to you in future videos.

Forrest of Dean Getaway - Forest Holidays

This video is a montage of the week in the the Forest of Dean in a Forest Holidays cabin.

We had a getaway (1 year wedding anniversary) and stayed in the same cabin that we had for our honeymoon last year at the same time. This year our Daughter joined us and Nannie and Granddad came for a night.
